Pastor William H.Marshall

Motto: ‘Trying to Make a Difference One Soul at a Time’

William H. Marshall was born on August 27, 1947 in Bolton, Mississippi. He is a graduate of Summer Hill High School in Clinton, Mississippi.  In 1975 he moved to Pascagoula to work for Ingalls Shipyard and in December 2007 he retired after 32 years of service.   

Rev. Marshall was called to the ministry in 1978. He was licensed by Rev. J. C. Hunter, pastor of Chapel Hill Baptist Church in Bolton, Mississippi.  In 1982 under the leadership of Rev. Sam Anderson, Pastor Marshall was ordained. He served as Associate Minister and Assistant Pastor of Union Baptist Church in Pascagoula, MS.


On April 1, 1990, he became Pastor of St. Peter Baptist Church where he has been our spiritual leader, friend and teacher for 27 years. In 1996, Pastor Marshall graduated from Lift Bible College – E. L. White Bible Seminary (Ocean Springs, MS).   He avails himself to continued Christian education through the Gulf Coast Missionary Baptist District Association (GCMBDA), General Missionary Baptist State Convention of Mississippi and the National Baptist Convention USA, Inc.  He is past 1st Vice President of GCMBDA, past 4th Vice Moderator, and current 3rd Vice Moderator of GCMBDA.


By the power of the Holy Spirit working through Pastor Marshall, his time in the ministry has been one of great spiritual growth for St. Peter Baptist Church. Pastor Marshall is a man with a big heart, a generous spirit and a deep abiding compassion for all people.  He is swift to help and slow to criticize. Jesus told his disciples…”he that is greatest among you, let him be your servant” (Matthew 23:11).  Based on these words, Pastor Marshall’s greatness stands out when measured by his service. He allows himself to be led by the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  He demonstrates Christ like character  in his speech, conduct and behavior; which is exemplified in his life as being a faithful servant of God.


Pastor Marshall is married to the former Minnie Montgomery and they are the parents of four children: Derrick, Jasmine, Christopher and Keesha. They are the grandparents of Christian and Jada, Kevin (KJ) and have two great grandchildren.
